Hey everyone!
As someone who quite fancies wearing black articles of clothing often (as evident here, here, here and here), I can assure you that there are definitely other ways to look edgy and fierce while incorporating color. Pink isn’t generally seen as the most daring color ever, given its reputation as a girly, feminine hue commonly associated with innocence and youth. However, you can certainly incorporate this color into your wardrobe AND convey your badass side to the world. I personally adore pink, which I’m sure you already know from my Vegas outfit inspiration, as it is a gorgeous color, playful and sassy.
Today I am sharing with you all a guest post by Nell Rochas with tips and inspiration on how to look badass while in pink.
Without further adieu…

How to wear pink and look like a badass
There is much to be said about the color pink. For some of us, this is the color our mothers insisted on making us wear throughout our childhood, so that they could hold on to “their little one” for as long as they possibly could, and for others, this is the bubble gum hue that should be kept in an attic somewhere, together with their dolls and animal drawings.
Despite it being the most feminine color of all, it is still possible for you to rock pink and look like an utter badass — you just have to know with what you should pair this color with and how to use its soft feature to your advantage. The following are some tips and tricks to get you to start loving this cotton candy hue.
Start at the bottom
The best way to bring pink back into your wardrobe is to start at the bottom — literally — by wearing pink shoes. Once you have that color on your feet, then you can keep the rest of your look as you normally like it by wearing your usual dark colors such as black on black, army green, blues and other colors you love.
Add leather
Everything looks better with leather. Whether it is thrown on post workout or paired with a mini skirt, a leather jacket will bring an edge to any outfit. Pair dark leather with your pink fashion piece, maybe that’s a pleated pink skirt worn with a cropped leather jacket or leather pants worn with a soft pink blouse.
Go for bold accessories
Dark embellished chockers and statement necklaces; chunky bangles or ear cuffs, wearing bold accessories with pink will give the latter an edgy feel and steer it away from it being too girly.
Deconstruct your pink
Another great way of giving an edge to your pink outfit is by finding pink fashion pieces that come with a deconstructed or an asymmetrical design like a pulled down shoulder sleeve, an asymmetrical dress or top.
Add sneakers
To undermine the feminine associations of this color and bring that boyish, androgynous side to your look, add a pair of sneakers to your outfit like classic blue converse sneakers or white sneakers which are so on trend right now.
To liven up that pink color, especially for a night look, a statement piece in a metallic hue will help to enrich the softness of the color pink and bring shimmer to your outfit.
Add black
When all else fails and you still want to try wearing pink without looking too girly, then simply pair it with black fashion pieces and see how beautifully that pink will look with such a dark and ever classic color.

Bright colors are always super fun to play with. But it can be easy to get stuck on the socially contrived associations certain colors have. They can definitely mess with your mind and make you second guess a color. Although pink may seem generally like a sweet, innocent girly color, it is possible to wear it while looking edgy and badass.
