Guest Post: Your Guide To Spring 2016 Happening Trends

Hey everyone!
Today, I am sharing with you all a guest post by the lovely Suzy Walsh from houseofelegancefashion.com. Although we are still in the midst of winter 2015, sooner or later spring will creep up on us when we least expect it. We will be so caught up with all the winter trends still happening all around us, we won’t think ahead about what is to come for the spring. Just think about my obsession with fall clothes when December had already started. Though, in my defense, winter technically starts on the 21st, so I got no shame!
Anyways, without further ado, here is a quick guide to Spring 2016 trends, by Suzy

Your Guide To Spring 2016 Happening Trends

As we mark the end of 2015, the coming year is going to be about many new things. For a fashionista, nothing beats the fun of the spring, when there are so many new trends and amazing use of colours and textures. Spring 2016 collections were launched a couple of months back, and as always, there is always something that works majorly in all the shows. In this post, we will talk of the best spring 2016 trend picks, and as always, there will be a few tips to get you started and keep things within the budget of your choice.

the white shirt shift
The white shirt shift: Now every girl probably has that one white classic shirt that’s used with too many looks. For 2016, you might need to get a few other designs, because the top fashion houses have revisited the classic in many ways. They have worked extensively on adding more elements to the stolen shirt from men’s closet and have made it more feminine and effective for the season in particular. Some of the designers you need to check include Amanda Wakeley, Proenza Schouler, Fendi and Jil Sander.
the slip-up
The slip-up: The slip dress is among the best things to have been revamped for the spring, and the new collections are all about fun designs and stunning use of fabrics, which worked big time. When it comes to the slip dress, satin remains the best choice for most designers, given that it has a unique luxury feel to it and adds incredible level of comfort. Some designers who have worked to make the slip dress feel lazier but in the most stunning ways include names like Alexander Wang, Emilio Pucci and Calvin Klein. Keep an eye on the use of textured and accessorizing materials such as lace, which worked wonders. You can even find some slip-dresses online – click here for some awesome stuff.

striped for glamour
Striped for glamour: This is one trend that everyone has been talking about! The stripes of spring 2016 were all bold, feminine and immensely colourful with plenty of choices. Just like the way gingham had appeared last year in the same season, this year you will see a lot of different types of stripes. These are remarkable and unique for varied reasons, and some of the best designs were spotted at Christian Dior, Alexander Wang, Elie Saab and Dolce & Gabbana. Horizontal or vertical- it doesn’t really matter as long as you go bold and beautiful with colours and materials.
On the last note, let’s also talk of pleats and ruffles, which were extensively in many collections. When it came to pleats, designers like Sonia Rykiel, Tanya Taylor and Valentino worked with amazing colours and materials, adding a lot of room for experimenting. If you are someone who likes to revamp the closet every season, this is what you would need. Have a great Christmas ahead!
