How to defeat Coronavirus Covid-19 and stop the spread ?

Hello Friends,
Hope you’re safe. I am sending prayers, love & light to you. As you’ve read the title & the whole world is going through this, the name Covid-19 doesn’t need any introduction.
I thought a lot before writing this post. First, I decided not to write it as there’s already so much on the internet on this new coronavirus. But, then I thought I should write a post here sharing some positive vibes too.

As you know, ICTV announced “severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)” as the name of the virus on 11 February 2020 (Source: WHO)
Before we proceed, let me tell you that we’re following all the guidelines and safety measures including social distancing and staying at home, we are also standing together facing this situation bravely. 
Being a qualified microbiologist, there are so many things to write but I will be making this post not so long as my aim here is to share some important things only that are essential for all.
Rumors can make this situation more difficult so it’s very important to stop the spread of rumors too.
I request you not to believe rumors and please do not forward them through social media. Please beware of the fact that it can make the situation worse.

People may be sick with the virus for 1 to 14 days before developing symptoms. The most common symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) are fever, tiredness, and dry cough. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment.
More rarely, the disease can be serious and even fatal. Older people, and people with other medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, or heart disease), may be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill.

  • tiredness
  • difficulty breathing (severe cases)

You can protect yourself and help prevent spreading the virus to others if you:
Do
Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub
Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze
Avoid close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell
Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell
Don’t
Touch your eyes, nose, or mouth if your hands are not clean

Researches are going on to find a cure for coronavirus covid-19.
There is no specific medicine to prevent or treat coronavirus disease (COVID-19). People may need supportive care to help them breathe.

Self-care

  • If you have mild symptoms, stay at home until you’ve recovered. You can relieve your symptoms if you:
  • rest and sleep
  • keep warm
  • drink plenty of liquids
use a room humidifier or take a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and cough.

SOME OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND    
1). Don’t panic and take the stress.
2). Take care of your mental health 
too.

3). Social distancing is a must.
4). Wash hands frequently either by soap and water or by any alcohol (60%) based sanitizer. Take 20 seconds to wash your hands. You can sing the happy birthday song to do this as suggested.
5). Do not watch news channels the whole day & night. Visit authentic websites only for updates and full information.
6). Eat clean and healthy.
7). Boost your immunity. Take care of your immunity. You can take suggestions from your Doc. Over phone. If he/she allows, you can use vitamin c, vitamin b12 & zinc as suggested by medical experts and doctors. You can also include veggies and fruits that will boost your immunity naturally after your doctor’s advice overcall because they are aware of your other health conditions too.

8). Do meditation.
9). Drink enough clean water.
10). Take enough sleep.
11). Be creative (enjoy some creativity at home).
Staying at home is not boring. You can find your hobbies again. Listen to the music. You can spend a great time with your family at home. You can watch movies and even take part in various social media online challenges like dance etc. 
giving a positive msg of keeping a positive mindset while entertaining you at the same time. Take care of your pets and enjoy stay-at-home time with them. Follow WHO guidelines and guidelines issued by your govt.
